FAQ
This is a help page. If anything here differs from the Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy, or the consent, those documents apply.
This is the English version of the page; the Russian original says the same thing.
Does my partner see my “Never” answers?
No. Your “Never” answers, your answers without a match, and your excluded topics sit in your part of the database, and the access rules do not let your partner’s app read them. Your partner sees only matches and which answer — “Yes” or “Maybe” — you gave. But if there is no match, your partner may guess that you answered “Never” or haven’t answered yet: the order of the cards is shared by the two of you. What else your partner can see is in the Privacy Policy, in the section “What your partner sees.”
When does a match appear?
When you both answered “Yes” or “Maybe,” in any combination. If one of you changes your mind, the match disappears for both of you without a notification, but the match counter on the “Couple” screen goes down.
How do I link with my partner?
Send an invitation from the app: by link, by code, or by QR. If your partner already has the app, the link opens it right away. If not, the same code is written on the page the link leads to: after installing, your partner types it in by hand on the “Couple” tab; it will not fill itself in. The code is valid for 6 hours, lets in one person, and works only while you don’t have a partner linked.
What happens to my answers if I link with a new partner?
Your “Yes” and “Maybe” answers — both those from before the link and those from your previous couple — will start working for the new couple: matches may appear from them right away. “Never” does not carry over. Right now you cannot choose “don’t carry over”: if you don’t want them carried over, delete your account before the new link and start fresh.
We broke up. What happens to the data?
Matches, the couple’s history, and rewards immediately become unavailable in the app — to you and to your partner. They are in your data copy (“Download my data”); as the operator we have technical access to the database, but we do not open this data. They are kept until one of you deletes your account, and then they are deleted entirely. Your answers stay yours: your “Yes” and “Maybe” will start working for your next couple, if you link with someone. If someone other than you bought Cerise Plus, your access immediately goes back to the free plan — the purchase, including “Lifetime,” lives on the account of the person who paid.
What is free?
Currently — the first 60 answers in Compass, then five new cards a day. Ten turns of Truth or Dare. Matches, suggestions to your partner, the couple’s history, the Weekly Spark, rewards, and boundaries are always free.
How much does Cerise Plus cost?
Year — $39.99, the first seven days free if a free trial is available to you. Month — $9.99. “Lifetime” — $99.99 in one payment, for as long as Cerise Plus exists. In your country the store may show the price in local currency and with taxes: the price on the purchase screen applies. Cerise Plus removes the daily Compass allowance, opens Truth or Dare without a limit, and opens Dice — where that game is in the app.
Does my partner have to pay separately?
No. One pays, two use it: your partner gets access automatically as soon as you are a couple. If both of you paid, both are charged, and each subscription has to be cancelled separately.
Why am I not offered the free week?
The free trial is one per person and per couple. If you or your partner have already had it, the yearly plan is sold with payment right away. The store also gives a free trial only once per account.
How do I cancel my subscription?
In the app: Settings → the “SUBSCRIPTION” group → the “Plan” row → “Cancel subscription.” The “Plan” row leads there only if you paid for Cerise Plus; if your partner opened access for you, the person who paid cancels. The cancellation itself is done in the App Store or Google Play — the app takes you there. Directly: iPhone — iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions; Android — Google Play → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. You must cancel no later than 24 hours before the end of the free trial or of the paid period. The paid period runs to its end — for you and for your partner.
What are heat levels?
You turn on the levels you are ready to answer: Settings → “Levels.” This is always free. If a level is on for only one of you, its cards still arrive, but there will be no matches on them, and for the person who has the level on, it is marked “On for you only.” That is, your partner sees that this level is off for you. When you change your levels, your partner does not get a notification. Your partner does not see your excluded topics.
How do I delete everything?
Settings → Account and data → “Delete account and data.” Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone: answers, profile, couple data, invite codes, the consent log. Matches and the couple’s history disappear for your partner too, and your partner’s own answers stay with your partner. Deletion does not cancel the subscription: it lives in the App Store or Google Play, and has to be cancelled there. Details are on the page “Deleting your account.”
How do I delete my account if I no longer have the app?
Install Cerise again on the same phone or on a new one, restoring from a backup: your profile may come back through the recovery code, and then you delete it in settings. If the profile has not come back, we cannot tell which one is yours: we do not have your email or phone number. Such data is deleted on its own — exactly how is on the page “Deleting your account.”
How do I get a copy of my data?
Settings → Account and data → “Download my data.” The copy arrives right away, as two files: a table of your answers (it opens in Excel and Google Sheets) and the rest of your data. The app opens the share sheet — save the files or send them to yourself. You can download a copy three times a day. We do not send a copy by email: an email does not prove that the account is yours, and your partner also knows the account identifier.
What does “I agree to usage statistics, crash reports and Cerise ad measurement via Google” mean?
It is consent to statistics and ad measurement: which screens are opened, what is tapped, purchases, and crashes — without answers, names, or card texts. In addition, on Android the app tells Google two facts with no details — that you gave five new answers and that you reached the end of the introductory setup — so that Google can tell whom to show Cerise advertising to. Together with them, Google receives the installation identifier, device details, the country and region, and which ad the installation came from. The app does not collect the device’s advertising ID, there is no ad personalization, and there are no ads in the app itself. On the first screen and on the invitation screen it is a checkbox that is not checked by default. Afterwards you can turn it on or off at any time: Settings → Account and data. What exactly is measured is in the Privacy Policy.
How do I get a refund?
The App Store or Google Play decides on refunds: the payment went through them. In the app: Settings → the “SUBSCRIPTION” group → the “Plan” row → “Request a refund.” On iPhone, Apple’s refund window or its page reportaproblem.apple.com opens; on Android, the Google Play order history, where you file the request for the right order. The “Plan” row leads there only while Cerise Plus is active for you and was paid for by you; after the subscription ends, file the request directly — at reportaproblem.apple.com or in the Google Play order history.
