Deleting Your Account
How to delete your Cerise account and data. You can delete it only from inside the app; what to do if you no longer have the app is explained below. The Cerise app is published by Sergei Olegovich Afinogenov, sole proprietor (Republic of Armenia).
This is the English version of the page; the Russian original says the same thing.
In the app
Settings → Account and data → “Delete account and data.” Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone: we do not keep anything “in case you change your mind.” If the connection drops halfway, the server will finish the deletion on its own, usually within 20 minutes, and it is safe to tap again.
What is deleted
- your answers, boundaries, profile (name and gender), and deck;
- notification tokens and technical markers;
- invite codes — yours and those you accepted;
- the data of your current and past couples: matches, history, tasks, rewards;
- the purchase record and the “free trial already used” marker;
- the hash of the recovery code and the consent log;
- the sign-in account itself.
What remains and for how long
- The subscriber record in RevenueCat is deleted immediately; if RevenueCat has an outage at that moment, the server retries once an hour. The purchase itself stays in the App Store or Google Play: the store keeps it under its own rules.
- Statistics events, if you turned statistics on, are deleted at Amplitude no later than 40 days later: we send the deletion request automatically within a day after the account is deleted.
- Ad measurement data, if you turned statistics on, sits in Google Analytics without your account identifier, so it cannot be found by account: technical events are erased on their own after 2 months, and the installation identifier and the two ad measurement events after 14 months, together with the data linked to that identifier. When the account is deleted, the app asks Google Analytics to reset the installation identifier. Conversions in Google Ads are kept by Google under its own rules.
- The service record of the deletion — the account identifier and the time of deletion. It is needed to complete the deletion at RevenueCat and Amplitude, and is erased when they confirm it.
- Crash reports carry no account identifier; Google keeps them for 90 days.
- The notification token may be kept by Google for up to 180 days.
- Server logs are kept for 30 days.
- There are no database backups. Deleted data technically remains in the service version of the database for no more than an hour.
- Support emails are kept while the correspondence continues; we will delete them sooner if you ask.
Subscription
Deleting your account does not cancel the subscription: it lives in the App Store or Google Play. Cancel it there, or the charges will continue. iPhone: iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Android: Google Play → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
If you paid for Cerise Plus, your partner keeps access until the end of the paid period; with “Lifetime,” your partner’s access ends immediately.
What your partner will see
The couple disappears without a notification: matches, history, and rewards are deleted for your partner too. Your partner’s own answers stay with your partner.
If you no longer have the app
We do not have your email or phone number, so an account can be deleted only from inside the app. Install Cerise again — on the same phone, or on a new one by restoring from a backup. Your profile may come back through the recovery code: on iPhone it is kept in the keychain, and on Android in Block Store, if the cloud backup is end-to-end encrypted. If the profile has come back, delete it in settings as described above.
If the profile has not come back, we cannot establish which one is yours, and we do not delete data based on a description or an identifier: otherwise someone else could delete it, for example a former partner. Such an account will be deleted on its own if the app has not been opened with it for 24 months (in a couple — if neither partner has opened it), except accounts with an active Cerise Plus — bought by the person or received from a partner — and with a “Lifetime” purchase — together with the data of its couples.
If you never confirmed your age and consent, there is no profile. A sign-in without a profile (if you opened the app and did not pass the age question) is kept without a time limit; it has no name and no answers.
